The Medicine Hat Sport and Event Council has been busy over the summer and into the fall and are excited to share with our local stakeholders some new and upcoming resources available to them.
Join us in welcoming keynote speaker, Kieran Block, as he tells his story about The Ups and Downs of Almost Dying, how it has completely changed his life, and what he is doing now to inspire others.
Kieran Block is a former Medicine Hat Tiger and Canadian Sledge Hockey player. He currently teaches in Edmonton helping kids with mental health issues. He is also an Ambassador for You Can Play Project.
Following the presentation, join the Medicine Hat Sport and Event Council in a mix and mingle in the lobby. Kieran will also be selling and signing his book for any of those in attendance that are interested.
Following the last Stakeholder Meeting, we heard positive feedback with the round table discussions with a lot of people interested in learning more about being inclusive. Kieran will speak on inclusivity in regards to Parasports, Mental Health and the LGBT community. We are also working with local stakeholders to be present following the meeting to provide more information on how organizations can work on being more inclusive.
Admission for the Stakeholder Meeting is FREE.
Seating will be General Admission. We are expecting a large crowd for the event, so please arrive early to get a seat.
To ensure we are prepared, please RSVP that you will be attending with the number of seats you will need.
