January – Female Hockey Events!




Happy New Year!

We wanted to share a couple of upcoming opportunities for Players, Parents and Coaches to participate in during the month of January.

On January 30 & 31, Hockey Alberta will be hosting our 2021 Female Hockey Day Celebrations online!

Hockey Alberta has been hosting Female Hockey Day since 2017 in different communities across Alberta and this year the virtual format will allow players and parents from across the province to come together and celebrate female hockey in Alberta!

We will be hosting a two day series of seminars and panels on January 30 and 31 for young female hockey players and their parents. Seminars will run from 9 AM – 12:00/12:30 PM on each day and will include a variety of topics and Panels such as Nutrition, Team Alberta Experiences (Panel), Opportunities in Hockey (Panel), Mental Health and Skills, National Team (Panel), and one At-Home Fitness session each day.

ADDITIONALLY, Hockey Canada has launched a Pond to Podium Development Series with our National Women’s Team. The series includes the following FREE webinars:

  • 4 skills series sessions for coaches led by national team staff (skating, shooting & scoring, goaltending, developing defence)
  • 4 We Are Coaches clinics (All-Female clinics) led by women master coach developers
  • 3 holistic hockey training sessions for players led by national team staff
  • 2 Pond to Podium panels for coaches, players and parents led by national team athletes and staff
