REP Update from City of Medicine Hat

Sep 23, 2021 MHMHA Covid-19, News 0 comments

Good evening members,

The City of Medicine Hat has announced and provided us with their R.E.P for Rink Facilities.

The REP will be in place at the following facilities:

Co-op Place

Effective 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021

Family Leisure Centre & Kinplex

Effective start of operation day on Friday, October 1, 2021

Hockey Hounds

To be determined. (We will continue to operate with the 60-spectator capacity restriction. This will be monitored, and a plan may be put in place at a later date.)

What this means for our sport and Association moving forward is as follows.

  • Any spectators 12+ will have to provide a city employee with either proof of COVID Vaccination or proof of a Negative Covid Test. (The city will be providing a person to check this. It is not done by the Association.)
  • All Players and Coaches are EXEMPT from having to provide this information.
  • Capacity restrictions will stay in place until the Effective REP Start Dates, that are listed above.
  • Masking requirements are still in place in the stands, scorekeeping/penalty boxes and on benches.
  • All on ice programming and competitive play will continue as normal.

We understand that there are mixed feelings about the situation we see ourselves in. Unfortunately, all of this is out of our hands. Again, we ask everyone, please treat all employees, volunteers and each other with kindness & respect. As we all continue to navigate our sport & hockey community, through this pandemic.
