Coaching and Evaluator Information 2024-2025 Season
Coaching and Evaluator Information 2024-2025 Season
Dear Members of MHMHA,
I hope this email finds you all well. I am reaching out to the association on behalf of MHMHA regarding coaching applications, evaluation staff and general volunteer help.
Coaching Applications (Deadline to submit application June 15th):
Coaching applications for our travel teams are now open. If you’re passionate about hockey and coaching, don’t miss out on the opportunity to apply. Head coach positions play a vital role in shaping the development and success of minor hockey teams, providing essential leadership and guidance of young players on and off the ice. All head coaches will receive a complimentary Ice Hockey Systems account for the 2024-2025 season as well as other new initiatives being announced soon. These applications will determine our Travel Hockey Coaches. Anyone interested in coaching Intro to Hockey/City League, may select the coaching option on their child’s registration form. Please follow the instructions located on our website using the link here: https://medicinehatminorhockey.com/coaches/
Evaluator Information:
As you may already know, tryouts are a crucial part of our season as they determine the composition of our teams. To ensure a fair and comprehensive evaluation process, we are seeking individuals who are passionate about the sport and capable of providing an impartial assessment of player skills and potential. I want to emphasize that serving as an evaluator requires significant time commitment. The tryout period typically spans several days or even weeks, depending on the number of participants and the level of competition. Additionally, there will be mandatory meetings or training sessions leading up to the tryouts to ensure all evaluators are aligned on the criteria and procedures. We are looking for individuals who have no direct affiliation with any of the teams or players participating in the tryouts. Our goal is to create an environment where every player has an equal opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for a spot on the team based solely on merit.
Given our large membership base of over 1000 individuals, while we aim to shortlist and interview as many candidates as possible, regrettably, not everyone may be contacted.
If you are willing to commit your time and expertise to this endeavor, please fill out the attached form that can be found here: https://forms.office.com/r/GyUpa0rSCF
General Volunteer:
As our evaluations approach, we are reaching out to our dedicated community for general volunteer assistance. If you’re available to lend a helping hand, please fill out the volunteer form here: https://forms.office.com/r/tcZJwt84gU
Kindly note that due to volume of responses we anticipate, not all volunteers may be contacted. However, your willingness to contribute is greatly appreciated.
Please feel free to forward this email to anyone in the community who you think would be a good fit as a Head Coach, Evaluator or Volunteer. That’s it for now.
As always, thank you for your time.

Female Information Night – Reminder
Dear Association Members,
We wanted to send a quick reminder about our Female Hockey Information Night happening tomorrow.
Date: May 1st, 2024
Time: Updated to 5:30 PM
Location: Hockey Hounds Social Room
Due to popular demand and to accommodate those of you coming from work, we’ve pushed back the start time to 5:30 PM.
This session will be an interactive and informative discussion focused on the MHMHA female stream. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn more about the programs, ask questions, and engage in a fluid conversation about the future of female hockey within our association.
We encourage all members interested in female hockey to attend and participate. Your input and involvement are invaluable as we continue to develop and support our female hockey initiatives.
