Rep Teams Player Movement (Redcliff and Irvine Minor Hockey)
As we prepare for the 2025–2026 minor hockey season, Medicine Hat, Irvine, and Redcliff Minor Hockey Associations have come together to establish a consistent and collaborative approach to player movement and registration. The attached memo outlines the agreed-upon process for the upcoming season and reflects our joint commitment to fairness and alignment with Hockey Alberta guidelines.
Please note: this agreement confirms that all Redcliff and Irvine players who attend AAA or AA tryouts and are not selected for either of those teams, will return to their home associations.

This season, we will be piloting a new format for U15 City League. Teams will receive one practice and two games per week as part of this trial. The goal is to evaluate the impact of additional gameplay on development and overall experience.

U7 Skating Prep Program:
The U7 Skating Prep Program is designed to introduce young skaters to the basics of ice skating, preparing them for the hockey season. This fun and engaging program focuses on developing essential skating skills such as balance, coordination, forward and backward skating, stopping, and turning. Skaters will be taught through a variety of games and exercises to build confidence, strength, and agility on the ice.
U9/U11 Ultimate Shooting and Scoring Camp:
The Ultimate Shooting and Scoring Camp is dedicated to mastering shooting and scoring techniques. Players will learn key strategies and refine their shooting skills, focusing on accuracy, power, and timing. Each player will work on improving their weaker areas, building confidence, and developing the tools needed to advance to more complex scoring techniques.
U13/U15 Power Hour Camp:
Power Hour Camp focuses on high-intensity training to improve key skills. Participants will work on stride technique to enhance both power and efficiency, including forward and backward strides, edge work, transitions, foot speed, and evasive maneuvers. These skills will make players more difficult to track and defend against in game situations. This high-intensity camp helps players develop the skills needed to outpace opponents and capitalize on scoring opportunities.
U11/U13 Power Hour Camp (Female only):
This high-intensity Power Hour Camp is tailored for female players, focusing on stride technique to enhance both power and efficiency. Skills such as forward and backward strides, edge work, transitions, foot speed, and evasive maneuvers will help players excel in game situations. The camp emphasizes speed, agility, and power, helping participants develop the skills to outpace opponents and make a greater impact on the ice.
U15/U18 Power Hour Camp (Female only):

U9/U11 Junior Goalie Training:
This program focuses on developing essential skills such as positioning, reflexes, puck tracking, and agility. Designed for young goalies, it provides expert coaching to enhance technique, build confidence, and prepare players for the next level of competition.
U13/U15 Senior Goalie Training:
This program focuses on advanced techniques, game awareness, puck handling, and mental toughness. Tailored to meet the needs of senior players, it provides expert coaching to help goalies improve consistency, reaction time, and overall performance in competitive environments.

U7 Power Skating:
U7 Power Skating Camp is designed to build strong skating foundations for young players. Focused on developing speed, agility, and balance, this camp helps skaters improve their stride technique, edge work, and overall skating efficiency. Through fun and engaging drills, players will gain the confidence and skills needed to excel on the ice.
U13/U15/U18 Checking Clinic:
This camp teaches players the essential skills and techniques for body contact. Focused on both initiating and absorbing contact, the program offers a controlled environment where players can safely gain experience and confidence. Each skill is demonstrated with the correct technique and broken down into key elements, helping players build the foundation needed to improve and progress to more advanced contact scenarios.
** U18 Checking Clinic is catered to players who have never played contact hockey.
U9/U11 Overspeed and Shooting:
The Overspeed and Shooting Hockey Camp is designed to enhance both skating speed and shooting precision. Players will focus on improving their stride efficiency and foot speed while also refining their shooting techniques, including accuracy, power, and quick release.
Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellation up to June 15th: Full refund, minus a $50 administration fee
- Cancellation after June 15th: NO refund, unless a medical note is provided
