City League Discipline Policy (U13 & U15)

1. Repeated Penalties – U13/U15

1.1 Automatic Game Misconduct

If a player receives any combination of two (2) of the following infractions in a single game, the player will receive an immediate game misconduct and be removed from the game:

  • Body Checking
  • Head Contact
  • Boarding
  • Charging

If a double minor penalty is assessed on a play, this will only constitute as a single infraction.

A teammate must serve the remaining time of the final penalty assessed.

1.2 Automatic Game Misconduct (Three Penalties of Any Type)

If a player receives three (3) penalties of any kind in a single game, that player will receive an immediate game misconduct and be removed from the game. A teammate must serve the remaining time of the final penalty.

1.3 Multiple Game Misconducts – Suspension Progression

A player who receives two (2) of these game misconducts (as outlined above) will receive a one-game suspension for their next scheduled game. For each subsequent occurrence, the player will receive a two (2) game suspension.

1.4 Serving the Game Misconduct

If a player receives a game misconduct penalty prior to the final 10 minutes of regulation play, the remainder of that game shall constitute the full service of the game misconduct. If a player receives a game misconduct penalty within the last 10 minutes of the game, the player shall be suspended for the next scheduled game.

1.5 Reporting Requirement

When any of the above game misconducts are issued, the manager of the disciplined player must:

  •  Notify conduct@mhmha.ca and city@mhmha.ca of the removed players’ name, the player’s team, the date and time of the game, if the ejection occurred in the final 10 minutes of the game, and if the removal was a result of receiving (2) penalties as listed in section 1.1 or is it was due to a combination of (3) penalties.
  •  The remaining time in the game of the ejected player, will not be applied to the violating players’ penalty tracking minutes for the season

2. Coach Conduct

If a coach is removed from a City League game for misconduct toward a referee, spectator, opposing player, or opposing coach, the referee must:

  • Record the coach’s name and team on the back of the scoresheet.
  • Ensure the scoresheet is sent to the City Director and the Game & Conduct Director immediately following the game.

The removed coach will receive an automatic one-week suspension from all MHMHA-related events. The incident could lead to longer a suspension if warranted by Game andConduct.

3. Spectator Conduct

If a referee removes a spectator for misconduct:

The referee must note the incident on the scoresheet.

The team affiliated with the spectator is responsible for reporting the spectator’s name to the City Director and Game & Conduct Director.

The removed spectator will receive an automatic one-week suspension from all MHMHA-related events. The incident could lead to longer a suspension if warranted by Game and Conduct.
