Game Rules

  1. Ties
    • games will be decided by 3 players per team shoot out with the home team deciding which team shoots first. If the shootout ends in a tie, then it will be a sudden death shootout with the first team to score being the winner.
  1. Penalties
    • All minor penalties will be 3-minute run time.
    • Double minor penalties will be 6 minutes.
    • Major penalties are 7 minutes.

If a penalty is called within the last 4 minutes of the third period, and the games score

differential is 3 or less, the game will automatically become stop time for the remainder of the game and the penalty will be assessed at the stop time penalty lengths (2-minute minor, 4-minute double minor, 5-minute major).

Example 1 – a 2-minute minor penalty is called with 3:40 remaining in the third period and the score is 5-4. The game would become stop time for the remaining 3:40 and the penalty would be 2 minutes.

Example 2 – a minor penalty is called in the third period with 4:01 remaining in a 5-4 score game. The player would be assessed a 3-minute run time penalty. The game would continue to be run time until 3:00 remaining in the third period. The penalty would continue with the time remaining from the original 3 minutes, but because the game become stop time the remaining time on the penalty would be stop time as well
