3.11 Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment Policy

Statement #

Medicine Hat Minor Hockey, and it’s governing body Hockey Alberta is committed to contributing to the physical, psychological, social and spiritual health of individuals of varying abilities backgrounds and interests.

Hockey Alberta firmly believes that only when sport environments are safe and inclusive can these values be realized. Participants in Hockey Alberta sanctioned programming should have the reasonable expectation that it will be in an environment that is accessible, inclusive and is free from all forms of Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment.

Purposes #

The purposes of the Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment Policy are:

  1. To establish principles and guidelines, as well as appropriate responses to instances of Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment.
  1. To promote a commitment to eliminating Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment for all Participants through education, awareness and prevention.
  1. To provide direction to Hockey Alberta’s Membership on establishing principles and guidelines, as well as appropriate responses to instances of Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment.
  1. To provide a safe environment for Participants in any Hockey Alberta sanctioned program.

MHMHA strong prohibits all acts of Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment and as such will follow Hockey Alberta’s Maltreatment, Bullying and Harassment Policy in its entirety. The full policy can
